“India in God’s Story: Placed for a Purpose”
This Independence Day, let’s ask a deeper question:
What does it really mean to be a faithful Christian and a faithful citizen in India?
📍Jeremiah 29:7 — “Seek the welfare of the city… for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”
📍Romans 13 — Honour the authorities.
📍Philippians 3:20 — Our citizenship is in heaven.
➡️ We are called to love India as entrusted.
God has placed us here and now for a reason (Acts 17:26).
✅ Praying for leaders
✅ Guarding the rights of all people
✅ Interceding for the injustice we see
✅ Sharing the Good News
Early Christians were known for this:
✅ They prayed for their rulers (1 Tim 2:1-2)
✅ They obeyed the law (Rom 13:1)
✅ They honoured everyone (1 Pet 2:17)
A Christian in India today must do the same:
→ Love deeply
→ Live peacefully
→ Speak truthfully
→ Serve sacrificially
Here’s what faithful presence can look like:
- Pray for India — not just emotionally, but intentionally
- Respect laws — unless they violate God’s higher commands
- Practise hospitality — invite neighbours into your life
- Serve with excellence — in school, work, and community
- Speak truth with love — especially when it’s costly
- Stand with the marginalised — like Jesus did
- Know your faith deeply — don’t outsource your convictions
India doesn’t need louder Christians — it needs faithful ones.
Rooted. Loving. Clear. Humble.
Let’s be people who carry the Cross and the hope of Christ
Let’s be citizens of Heaven who make a difference on Earth
You are not here by accident.
You were placed in India — for such a time as this. ✨
Imagine:
🔸 Communities transformed
🔸 Public spaces filled with compassion
🔸 People curious about Christ because of how Christians live
This is what mission looks like in India in 2025.
Not just preaching — but planting hope, standing firm, and loving wide.
This August 15, celebrate with flags and sweets. Also
✅ Reflect
✅ Repent
✅ Recommit
Ask yourself:
“How can I love India like Jesus would?”
…and then go live that answer.
💬 How are YOU planning to be a better Christian and citizen this Independence Day?
