Question

Is God for real?

Answer

God, by definition of the term, is more real than anything else you could imagine, including this very question. God is the basis, the uncaused First Cause, the Infinite Being through whom all things were made (John 1: 3). You and I are called ‘contingent’ beings – meaning we depend on others for our existence. God alone is the ‘necessary’ Being, meaning, the reason for His existence is in Himself.

We may not be able to see, touch or feel God, like you would know your sibling or your parrot. That is because our sensory perceptions only allow us to experience things in this material world. God is a Spirit and we cannot see Him with our naked eyes.

There are visible realities (trees and flowers) and invisible realties (like air, quarks etc). So, although we cannot see God, we can experience Him, just like we can feel the air through its effect.

The Bible does not set out to prove the existence of God. It just assumes it. You could begin your journey by humbly asking God to come into your heart and be the God of your life. It is one thing to know about God, but quite another to know God.

Begin with the prayer: “Lord Jesus, be the God of my Life”.
