“FEMINISM”
Some words today carry a lot of weight. They spark strong reactions, yet few pause to ask: “What does this word actually mean?”
Take “Feminism” for example.
We asked you: What comes to mind first when you hear it?
Some said: “restoration of a fallen order.”
Others said: “women’s power.”
Same word. Very different meanings.
Culture often loads words with assumptions. “Feminism” can mean equal dignity and opportunity for women. It can also mean a rejection of all authority and God’s created order. No wonder we’re confused.
What the world says: Feminism is about self-definition apart from God, dismantling any gender roles, and finding power in autonomy.
What the Word says: God created men and women equal in dignity and value (Genesis 1:27), yet distinct in role and design. Jesus dignified women in a culture that diminished them (Luke 8:1–3, John 4:27).
What it is:
Seeking justice where women’s dignity is denied.
Celebrating the equal worth and gifts of women under God’s design.
What it’s not:
Erasing God-given differences.
Using equality as a weapon against the opposite sex.
💡Clarity:True liberation comes not from autonomy, but from alignment with God’s design.
Why this matters.
Words shape our worldview.
If we let the world define them, confusion reigns.
If we let Scripture anchor them, clarity emerges.
