Question

Why doesn’t God speak to us today or why can’t we see Him like in the Bible days?

Answer

One of the oft-repeated verses in the Bible is: “He who has ears, let him hear”. The Bible presents God as a communicating God. Jesus even said: “My sheep hear My voice”. So, what we need is a clean heart and a clean ear. A heart that desires to hear God and an ear that is tuned to pick up His messages.

When you say ‘Bible days”, are you referring to Jesus talking with His disciples? Or patriarchs like Abraham, Noah? The truth is we are living in special times of grace – You may not have physically seen Jesus, but God, the Holy Spirit indwells in our hearts when we receive Him into our lives. The intimacy for anyone is highest in this era of the Church because God resides within us.

A practical suggestion is to pray and read the Bible. That would be a lovely conversation – prayer is you speaking, and reading the Bible is God speaking.
